You will need a domain name and hosting for your website.
Domain Name
Your domain name is your website address. So ours is www.internetpower4smallbusiness.com.
Most of our clients already have a domain name registered, in which case you normally want us to use your existing domain name.
If you do not already have a domain name, or you want a new one, then when you choose any of our websites we will buy your domain name for you and this is included in the price*.
You should choose a domain name which is relevant to your business (and ideally based on your main keyword).
Depending on your business and the domain name availability, it’s often a good idea to include your location. This is particularly useful for pubs, where your main name has often been taken already – so you might choose eg www.thewhiteswanbristol.co.uk.
Or you can add your business type, eg www.turnersvets.co.uk. This will help your website come up on Google for relevant searches.
Most businesses prefer a .com or .co.uk and we recommend you choose one of these.
If you would like us to research keywords and advise you specifically on a domain name please just let us know and we will give you a quote. We can also purchase additional domains for you, and if these are bought at the same time, there is no admin fee.
Renewal fees for domain registration are approximately £10 per annum.
If we buy your domain for you and are providing your hosting, we will arrange your renewal and charge it at cost. If you have additional domains, we can also arrange your renewals for these with an admin fee.
Your main domain renewal is included free with our Online Dashboard.
(*Very occasionally there may be an extra cost for a particular domain name, eg if you choose a .co domain.)
Hosting
You also need hosting for your website.
Our websites all come with Free hosting for an initial period.
Free hosting for your website is included with our Online Dashboard.
We also provide hosting at £10 per month or a great value £70 per annum if paid in advance - ie just £5.83 per month.
As part of your hosting, we will set up emails for you linked to your domain name eg davidsmith@thewhiteswanbristol.co.uk.
If you already have hosting or prefer to arrange your own, then of course that is fine, but please just check with us first if you are not using our recommended providers (see below), as there may be technical and /or cost implications with some hosting companies.
You can add up to 5 extra domains to your hosting with us at no extra cost.
